Hacking Can someone help me get my USB drive working on a PSTV

I have my PSTV hacked with Henkaku and Enso and now I am looking to get a USB drive working on it. I couldn't find much information on it in the form of a compatability list. But i had heard that the PSTV can only read a max of 2TB. I have a spare 2TB Western Digital MyBook Essential external USB hard drive that is externally powered. I tried formatting it to both exFat and Fat32 but it is never recognized in VitaShell. I know I have everything set up correctly because my 32GB thumb drive works perfectly. Can anyone recommend some troubleshooting things I can try to get my current drive working? Are there some USB hard drives that just don't work? And if so, can anyone recommend to me a 2TB drive that does work? Is there a compatability list posted anywhere? I do have a powered USB hub that works on the PSTV so I can use a USB powered drive if that's what you recommend. Thank you.

There's no compatibility list because compatibility is a bit all over the place unfortunately. Some people, who have the same drives or enclosures, have devices that just work, and some don't. Also, 2TB isn't the limit either, I've seen people get 3TB drives working, and I think someone managed to get a 4TB working as well somehow (though I can't seem to find the reddit post anymore )

It's possible it could just be the data cable the external HDD uses, so before you go buying a whole new HDD, try changing it out for another. It also may be worth doing a full format, instead of a quick format, when you set the HDD up. I've seen more people have success with large drives using exfat, so maybe give that a try once more doing a full format and see if that works.

Thanks for the tips. It formats fine on my PC so I didn't think it was a cable issue but I'll try changing it out and see what happens. I also have a 3, 4, and 6 TB drive laying around too so I'll try those as well and see if I have any better luck. Not that I need that much space but at least I can see if I can get one working. Are there any large drives that many people have claimed success with?

It may format fine in your PC, but the Vita is just a bit "finnicky" when it comes to custom stuff like this. Replacing the data cable actually fixed this issue with a few people, which is why it's worth trying anyways
