Aight, because the rest of the community isn't answering these questions, I figure why not I'll give it my best shot... I know you're new to the PS3 after-all, and I feel for anyone learning something even if it can be frustrating at time on both sides, so I'll make this easy to follow, and fairly organized

Yes, but unlike Windows, Mac, Linux, or anything else, it's fairly simple.. all installed HomeBrew will be located under the "Game" category in the main XMB, which if you haven't heard that reference before, I don't blame you it's basically the Home Menu of the console where your theme's will display like the Anime theme I made that you commented on recently, and also in multiman, but that's only game back-ups, and I wouldn't worry too much about that yet I'll get into the usefulness of those in a latter question you've proposed,
as for updating you don't need to worry about that often with the PS3 usually the only things that get updated anymore are rebug CFW, and multiman, and those are optional, but I'd recommend making alt accounts like you've mentioned in your post, but also installing PSNPatch if you ever plan on signing into PSN with your CFW console it basically is a security layer that temporarily disables CFW untill you reboot, this allows you to safely sign into PSN without the worry of Sony detecting that you have CFW, and banning your console from online play, don't worry this won't stop you from using mods, but again I'll save that for a latter question you made

I wish my mother was this cool with tech as you're, but anyway this was the most diffucult, part for me to learn myself, so IDK if I can answer this as clearly as the others because I barely grasp it myself, but I can say the only iffy thing to watch out for is, time, and that's mainly todo with the fact that you'll need to either back-up a game disc if you have the euro version of GTA V laying arround, or find a back-up somewhere online, and torrent it which I cannot link to as it's against the forums rules, but it'll need to be the euro version of GTA V which is the most supported as far as mod menu's are concerned, so if you're comfortable with doing this the game's Tittle ID to search for will be "
BLES01807", and it isn't a pkg file it'll be a folder, and with that info out of the way I'll pass you onto a video tutorial for the rest if you have any further questions regarding the information in this tutorial just reply back I'll get to you ASAP with as good of an answer as I can give.
