I want to know if my computer can power this GPU?
I couldn't find the model of my PSU, so I took an image of my PSU instead.
My PSU: (Id you're wondering, yes my desktop is an old workstation.)

No. That PSU only outputs 475w, which isn't enough for the RTX 2080, and it's basically a guarantee that it doesn't even have the proper PCIe power connectors for it, either. You'd need 2x 8pin, that PSU looks to only have 1 6pin I think (judging by crappy eBay/Amazon images).

No. The 2080 requires 650 W, while your PSU is only 475.

What wattage do I need, would 800+ be enough for the motherboard, etc?
EDIT: My PSU only has 1 one 2x3 pin connector.

Please don´t get me wrong, but that sounds all over the place. The I7-10510U is a notebook processor, that does not fit in a desktop computer, the RAM is DDR2, while any modern processor and mainboard requires DDR4.

Honestly if that Core2Duo is your current PC you may as well just get a whole new PC. To use an I7 processor you would need a new motherboard and new memory anyway. You can't use the ones you have.

Edit: missed that it was a mobile version.

thats his future specs lmao

from his current specs he using
https://ark.intel.com/content/www/u...sor-e8400-6m-cache-3-00-ghz-1333-mhz-fsb.html

lmao honestly he should get cpu mobo first then gpu
most modern games and software dont support cpus like his current one due to instruction sets.

that and the hard bottleneck that gpu will get due to his current motherboard being pcie 2

also for future use he would be better getting threadripper gen 3

i7's are nice, but you can get i5's for cheaper. They are still decent for gaming. Just saying.
Are i5's quad core? If so, I'll be fine. (I just don't want anything under 4 cores.)
unless you're planning on wasting a ton of money, please for the love of god don't buy an alienware pc.
What motherboard and CPU should I get. Alternatively, I'll just get the cheaper model of Alienware desktop, and then buy ram from ServerSupply, and use the hard drive that I currently have.

Agree with everyone, you should be planning a whole new build as nothing you have is compatible with new hardware.
I know that this is off topic, but is your profile image Q*bert?

I5's come in 4 or 6 cores. The 4 cores are hyper-threaded so they will show up as 8 cores, as the 6 core versions are not.

Desktop i5's don't have hyperthreading at all, only mobile i5's have hyper threading.

Assuming the rumors are true, Comet lake will have the first desktop i5s with hyper threading.

@Xdqwerty crashd was the exploit for LG TVs to root practically any.
I got word of it this january and rooted my TV. Was pretty impressed.
Since then LG patched the command to root and then the developer mode app itself from making vulnerabilities.

And then I found out that having a rooted TV lets you use PPPwn to jailbreak a PS4 on firmware 11. Finally uses for my rooted LG (I hate the playstation as such the use is gone)
