There's also AMD if you're wanting to save money and get around the same performance. Since you're having to move to a new architecture anyway, might as well consider everything out there.

You have it backwards, laptop i5's are not hyper-threaded, desktop CPU's are.
all ice lake cpu's (laptop cpu's) have hyperthreading, even the i3's
There is currently no i3/i5 on the desktop market that has ht yet, only the i7's have ht

Here is what I could find.
MOTHERBOARD
CPU (Not sure if this will work. [also not sure if this uses the right type of socket.])
RAM
GPU
I need someone to find me a PSU that will work with all of this.

My current CPU is x64.

All CPU nowadays will be x64.

Everyone else will have good advice on that particular setup, but a cursory look seems like it'll go well together. Personally, I set a budget and a goal (I want to play X game at 2k @144hz), and go from there.

Also, might be worth looking into monitors to compliment your new hardware (like 144hz, HDR, and other stuff).

as far as PSU goes, i'd say bare minimum of 500watt, but I'd feel more comfortable with a 750watt. do a gold or platinum if you want your electricity bill to not be crazy.

Honestly instead of getting the 9600k

Get the ryzen 3600X it's cheaper and a superior cpu.
Also unlike the i5 it actually supports hyperthreading

I would go with gskill or corsair RAM. Never heard of that brand you have linked.

No, you have it backwards. Besides a few first gen desktops i5's that were 2 cores/4 threads, there hasn't been a single hyper threaded i5 since launch.

You can go ahead and check yourself, if you like. https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark.html#@PanelLabel122139 <

Sorry I had the i3's and i5's mixed up. You are right.

I currently have two monitors. 1920x1080 60Hz (Primary) 1360x768 60Hz (Secondary, but used as if Primary.)
I the highest framerate that I want is around 70Hz (so that there isn't any lag)

The main reason that I'm trying to upgrade my rig is so that I can play Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 at it's highest settings. My other games play at around 30Hz

I think a 1080 alone can run xenoverse 2 at max settings, so you might be able to save some money...if you can find them. But I don't have first hand experience, so someone else will have to weigh in.
