Hi I'm about to buy a wii u on 5.3.2 reason I want it is for being able to play backup games on it since the games are huge like around 18gb I wanted to know if I buy a portable external SSD can i put all my wii u back up game on it then connect it to my wii u and be able to play the games off my SSD? Here a link to what SSD I'm thinking of getting

This will only work for the vWii backups not WiiU backups as there is no loader which can use the USB ports as of yet.

Do not buy this yet if you are only wanting to use it for WiiU Backups. Wait until the IOSU exploit is released and see what happens then.

Oh really ok do you know where to go to keep up to date with the iosu exploit? And where I can see what back up wii u game can be play using loadline?

Assuming USB loading ever happens, the Wii U won't really benefit from an external SSD (vs external HDD) because of the limited USB2.0 bandwidth

Kohmei so it would be better for me to get portable had instead of a sudden then? And thanks alot garou :) also I haven't got a wii u yet so which version would be best for I want to do? Which is run wii u backup games have a cfw having a emunand so I can update the wii u and play online and be able to run emulators like snes etc?

if you get a 5.3.2 or 5.4 wiiu you can spoof to play online (with your own legitimate games, you cannot play online with backups), but no emunand or anything like that exists yet, read this thread https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-definitive-guide-to-wii-u-hacking.396828/,

and once you understand it all get your console you dont want to hunt down a 5.3.2 system only to let it update to 5.5.1 because you didnt read the guide about blocking updates

By the way, the wii U backups are not 18gb. That's the wud file. When you extract the data it will be much much smaller.
