I Recently got a 3DS for Christmas and was wondering if Either my AK2i or DSTT will work on the Latest 3DS Firmware?

No, I have only an AK2i and I have to hold back my 3DS firmware because of it.
Go for the DSTwo if you want the newest firmware and a flash card.

realhotstuff also will flash the cards on request and they have the most reliable shipping (in my experience)
