Can I fix this DS? (the link doesn't work anymore because I have it) If so $20 (I paid $10) so a fat DS isn't bad...

Looks like he tore the ribbon cable. Very difficult to fix, unless you have another fried DS, or want to buy a whole new screen

That's a pretty good deal...

All you need is a new top screen.

You may need to do a little soldering with the speakers, but otherwise it should be ok.

Or if you repair a lot of DS' it has lots of useful parts.

Looks like I'm getting it for $10 EDIT: The guy is being a jerk and asking for $15 is that still good?. Do you think I need a Full Replacement Housing too? So all I need is this? Any guides for opening it? I've only opened my SP before.

P.S. Is it 99% I can fix this??? I don't have the money to waste!
P.P.S. Can I used a DS Lite screen?

Is it a good idea to test it when its open? Its just a pain to close it and then find out you need to open it back up!

K good news! The guy IS selling it to me for $10! Ya! What else do I need? I have (or getting) a new case, the Cross and Trigram Screw Drivers and the Upper Screen for the DS. Can I use a Lite Screen?

Plus it's the firmware that controls the brightness, not the screens.

As I said before, the speakers need soldering, which shouldn't be too bad. You just gotta hope that the ribbon cable is the only thing wrong with it

OK I got it! Here's what it can't and can do!

Can:
Turn on
Play DS and GBA games
The bottom LCD works great
Speakers work

Can't:
Use the top LCD (the backlight turns on but you can't see anything)
Cover isn't looking so good and the cover on the hinge is broken (but I think a new cover will fix all of this)

If you replace the cover and top screen (so it works perfectly) you could get maybe £40 (That's the trade-in price at Game) possibly a bit higher... I'm not sure what you would get in america (the exchange rate doesn't really reflect how the prices are done...)

If you don't replace anything then you would be lucky to sell it for more than it was sold to you (after all, you are selling the same thing

You can buy used ones here at gamestop for $80, but I don't know how much you get when you sell it...

What I did was take it apart then put it all back and guess what?! It works!!!

I feel sorry for the guy who sold it to me
