Hardware Can be both fixed?

Hello everyone, I have both a Nintendo 3DS and a 3DSXL and they have been broken for a while, like 2017. I have them since I was a very young and I want to play with them again, I really miss them. I just want some advice and if I could save them without losing all my data.

Here is some additional information: The Nintedo 3DS XL charges for a few seconds and then it stops charging, it won't charge unless I plug it again, it doesn't power up. The glue has been there for atleast 2017 so I'm guessing I must replace some parts with another 3DS XL, I'm guessing that the orange wire is for the R button so I also have to replace it.
The 3DS just straight doesn't charge and I'm planning on buying a new battery but I don't know if will find any replacements.

That depends on what data you want to retrieve. If you are only concerned with data on the SD cards, then it is relatively straightforward to decrypt the data if you installed CFW on these units in the past. Did you do that?

The XL should be doable but not easy nor cheap, most likely it doesn't power on because the flex cable for the upper screen might be torn off. Ds and 3Ds won't turn on if the upper screen is not present or if the flex cables are damaged. Shoulder button cable also needs replacement. The unit might not charge because it's maybe charged already.

For the battery of the second unit you have to buy a CTR-003

Before buying a new screen for the 3ds xl you can solder 2 resistors on specific test points on the motherboard to trick the xl into thinking there is a upper screen attached. That way you can see if the 3ds boots or not. However as it's soldering, only do it if you feel capable or have done soldering before

Anyway I'll leave a picture with the test points that need to be soldered in case you want to try. After confirming the 3ds boots you can then desolder them and just replace the upper screen (ignore the speakers in the photo, that's for making it a 3ds macro)

There isn't much of significance stored in the internal memory aside from things like Miis, the Activity Log, and parts of Mii Plaza. Save data for the games you may have been playing is all stored on the SD card.

It is possible to dump a 3DS NAND using a hardmod, but needless to say you wouldn't want to do that if you just need to get a fresh battery.

As others have said you will probably need a new upper screen, also a replacement shell to fix the damage. Replacement shells are not great quality, but it will work. The metal hinge piece looks intact so you will have to remove that and fit it into the new shell and also thread the upper screen ribbon through the hinge of the new shell, it is tricky so go slow to not damage the new ribbon. L/R button replacement ribbons are easily available. Getting the needed parts should not be a problem.

Replacement batteries are available but they are most likely not original, and the battery life is poor. But it's the best you can get. I had bad luck with a replacement battery from AliExpress that would not work at all, it wouldn't take charge and the console wouldn't even power on while plugged into the charger. An eBay battery worked but has poor battery life. It might be best to get the battery from iFixit, they are probably the same crap everybody else sells but I assume they at least test them so you will get one that works, and you don't end up like me needing to get a refund and waiting months in total to finally get a working battery.

We all know the issue here, and how to fix it.

The unit looks thoroughly smashed. It could have any number of problems. Data recovery might be the best option.
