Why people are that aggressive over a simple question ?

I'm using (the old) HyperSnap DX 4.
And yes, It's far more better than the simple print screen button.

It also works for video and openGL applications.
Allow you to define an area, an active window, auto-scoll window's scroll bar for full capture (which your simple print screen button can't do), auto-save file, auto-increment filename, recapture last area, etc.


But, sorry, I don't know if it's Vista compatible, as it's a quite old application.

Vista has a tool in the accessories folder called Snipping Tool lol.

Yeah, just use the snipping tool or if you use Firefox then LightShot is good.

I used to use a tool called WinUp, but then the developer dropped that and started a new project called ScreenSnapr (which is slightly laggy at times, doesn't support SFTP and also he wants users to buy it).
So I started using ZScreen for a few months, which was fine and all, in fact it was rather great, but then lack of SFTP made me drop it.
Since then I've been using Jing, which although is oversimplified, gets the job done fine, and even lets me record videos.

Anyway, just use PrtSc button. And if you want it to pre-crop to the window that is focused, Alt + PrtSc

The point antwill was making is that the Print Screen key does not work for everything.
For example, taking a shot of a video on certain video players will leave you with a black screen. I believe a couple emulators do this as well.

From my experience, SnagIt does the job. My friend claims that ScreenHunter is good as well.
