I recently sold a 20gb hard drive on eBay, and now the buyer claims that it is not working and that it red-ringed his console. Is that even possible?

If the hard drive is broken and the xbox recognizes that it is broken, it throws a one red light E67 code. When you take the hard drive out it should go away. Sometimes this error comes up if not placed in correctly and does not necessarily mean it is broken.

No the harddrive cannot red ring a console, basically the buyer is either lying through his/her teeth or it's just really unlucky timing on their xbox "dying"
