Sorry, but if you're using a 64-bit OS, can a Virtual OS run at 32-bit?
If so, I might upgrade my Windows 7 RC to retail so I can use the Virtual Windows XP to play these games.
I'm pretty mad because Red Alert 2 and all the older C&Cs lag horribly on my high-end computer.
I was able to upgrade to RTM... but my hardware doesn't support virtualization. Hence, no Windows XP Mode. But I win, because my Windows 7 is 32-bit.

Actually, I think Tiberian Sun is the best one of these freebie downloads. Maybe their stories are good or whatever, but the older two have very poor graphics in comparison, just look at the difference in the screen shots in the link. They also wanted you to keep the iso mounted to play (I HATE that), wouldn't allow a resolution over 640x480@16bit color (UGH!) and would force me to use Win95 compatibility mode to run. I probably could have made them not need the iso/disk, either through a cracked exe or registry tweak, and possibly I could tweak an ini to go to a higher res, but they looked a little too primitive to concern myself with. I'll stash them away anyhow though.

But Tiberian Sun allows at least up to 800x600 res (didn't go into the ini's yet), doesn't require any image to be mounted or a disk to be burned and the terrain looks MUCH more detailed than the other two. It also doesn't require any compatibility modes to run. Being a fan of sci-fi, I actually like the more futuristic stuff in it.

It was one of those times where the graphics DO matter to me. While I have played Tiberian Sun before, I never played the Firestorm expansion, so at least I can play that and the time I spent DL'ing them all wasn't completely wasted.

And they were FREE! My favorite price.

Thanks for the info! I'm downloading the last one (the 1.2GB file)

Now to get them to work on Win7 64 bits XD
