    Hello Tempers,

I just got my paycheck, so I decided to buy a game for my xbox 360. I have no clue what to buy, so I you, the strangers on the internet for advice.

Games I have/don't need/don't want: SSFIV, COD, red dead redemption, (m)ass effect, any halo game, BFBC2, assassins creed, bayonetta, darksiders, gears of war, gh/rb, sport games.

You pretty much generalized all the good stuff. You can try Alan Wake, haven't played it myself, but its getting some good reviews.

I personally recommend Dante's Inferno! I enjoyed it a lot, feels a lot like God of War though..so if your not into that sort of thing, you won't like it much.

Depends. I would say Blur if you tried it during the open beta just because it was quite good for multiplayer racing. I don't know if its slightly in the sports game due to the "racing" aspect, but since its like Mario Kart on steroids where a win can be determined even in the final 10 seconds....
otherwise, I don't know seeing as I don't always go for all the things people say I should.

Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands has come out. If you liked Assassin's Creed's freerunning you'll like that.

bioshock is really good. left4dead(2) are fun, but i find it only is really fun if you are with people playing it with you (its not fun at all if you are alone, even on live, or it was just for me. idk)

    I recommend Mass Effect 2.
You can have a look at this list for hot game deals. Hope it helps.

How about Borderlands, Batman:Arkam Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins or Forza Motorsport 3
Also, why did you refer to Mass Effect as (m)ass effect?

I just finished Alan Wake over the weekend. I enjoyed it, and played it pretty compulsively.. I usually don't finish games that fast, but it was relatively short and very compelling story-wise. The action parts were fun and well done, though I strongly recommend playing it on at least "medium" and not "easy", since the difficulty takes way too long to ramp up on easy, and the harder it gets, the more fun it is. As for replay, I'm really not sure if it has that much, even though there is add-on content for it.

Blur: I've been playing the hell out of the beta/demo, and am really looking forward to the full polished game. It's a very exhilarating combat racing game, the likes of which I haven't seen since Wipeout XL.

I can't say enough good things about both Batman:AA and Dead Space, tons of fun, and great replay value. I've played through Batman twice and Dead Space four times.

Just Cause 2 is a bit flawed as a proper game, but it makes for a great playground kinda game, it's just fun to mess around in. If I can't decide on anything else to play, I'll usually pop it in and end up playing for at least an hour.

As for XBLA games, what I play the most is Space Invaders Extreme and Splosion Man, both great games for relatively little money.

Ok bought blur for now, might consider getting the orange box next, it's quite cheap at rogers atm. Borderlands sounds good, too.
