Hey. I just tried to burn Metroid: Other M to a Memorex DVD+R DL. I set the layer break, but I couldn't find any working booktype. I proceeded anyway. When the burning process got to 51%, it failed. Here's the log:

The part that sucks the most is that this was my last DVD-R DL. I'll have to buy new discs if I want to try again. I'll probably go with DVD-R DLs this time, but for now, can someone help me find out what went wrong?

I tried 5 times. It failed every single one. Are there any other disc-burning softwares out there? Because I just wasted 12 bucks or something, and I'm nearly broke. I DON'T want my DVD's getting broken again!

Consider a sizeable USB Hard drive OP

$50 for 500 gigs and lose the need to make disks

I used to do disks till I figured out how much easier and convenient it was to use a USB loader.. Just a suggestion

Nintendude:

I have a grand total of 16 dollars, and no steady income. It would take a while to save that kind of money. Besides, I'd like my computer to be able to burn discs properly anyway.

EDIT: I think it has something to do with my burner, but I don't know how to find the brand. Can anyone help?

if you did not set the booktype manually and your burner doesn't do it automatically, then the disc wouldn't work even if the burning succeeds. does your wii read the discs you burned? i'm not sure if the wii should be able to read them, but it could be. (and then playable until data from the 2nd half is accessed...)

anyways, your options are:
- get some cheap (but compatible!) 8gb usb storage
- get/create a dvd5 version and burn to a sl disc
- figure out if your burner or disc is the problem and replace it

hello to all
movezig it looks like your iso file of metroid is scrubbed, and scrubbed files don't burn at all ,looks like you need a new iso file and try the recommendations that you got in your post.
also set your buffer at 20 mb in imageburn.
good luck
