it does not matter at all some people say it 2x but its not but sometimes if you burn it and max it doest work but you do not have to go as low as 2x

bp2000, aren't you the one who despise homebrew?

Why the fuck are you here?

i didnt word that right i ment cioscorp and softmii and all that stuff thats why i got a mod chip

I did 8x on a Disaster: day of crisis backup. It magnificently works!

It's all about finding the best combo

Yeah, usually people do 2x because it is slow enough to ensure a good success rate, but most decent drives nowadays can do 8x or 16x without any problems. I still use 6x but that's because I don't like the sound my drive makes once it goes past 8x.

I don't like the sound of my drive when it's dumping a game.

Sounds like a car

Don't worry, it sounds like that when its loading something, except you don't notice it because its only a few seconds and there's usually music or something to distract you. Just ignore it unless it starts hiccuping or something.

There's a thread on here that says Faster is better with proof and everything
Do a search for it

No real answer to that. Some people always burn at high speed, never had a failed disc, and therefore claim high speeds are the only right thing to do. But other people are having excellent results with low speeds, and claim that is better.

Just try in 2x, 4x, 8x and 12x.
Then test the DVDs with apps like NeroDiscSpeed and look at PI errors, PI failures, disc quality score...
After many tests, I'm now burning in 4x because there are very fewer errors than 8x or 12x.
Just test it!

EDIT : here are my results in 4x and 8x.
