Hey guys,

I need some urgent help as it seems I screwed up heavily.
What I did - I got the 9.0 firmware installed and I was tired on waiting for new REINX.
So I launched Hekate ctcaer 5.0.2 and did a restore of my rawnand.bin. It said that process was succesful, I reboot into OFW and bam, BSOD.
Now, what I can do, is still get into Hekate... What do I need to do to get my Switch working again?

The raw nand was on 8.1.0 when backupped. So, the firmware 9.0.0 got installed (by my son accidentally) through the Nintendo server.

Only Rawnand was. Well, I backupped that one using a tutorial. What to do?

You can't restore the nand if you don't have a matching pair of boot0/boot1 and the rawnand, just the rawnand isn't enough. You can try to see if you can rebuild your nand with choidujour, the pc version.

I'm trying to pick up on what you said. But in choidujour I get Error Section 0 is corrupted and Section 1 is corrupted.

Yeah obviously, but none of the games ran anymore of course. I'm stuck now in choidujour that the keys don't match. This is suffering indeed.

How so? I used REINX specifically to play all games. For example SM Deluxe simply didn't run on Atmosphere here.

making the games run was an easy fix

Yeah I did. All games run perfectly on REINX but only SMDeluxe didn't run on Atmosphere.
Kafluke, I will. I finally got through choidujour to setup the 6.1 package, thanks so far guys.

Hey Kafluke, I have 11 burnt fuses... So this means that I can't downgrade but only install 9.0.0 all over again?

EDIT: THANKS GUYS! My Switch is back alive, choidujour back to 6.1 and directly update back to 9.0 and it boots even again with the original Bootloader.
Now I'll give that Atmosphere a go again. THANK YOU ALL!

I'm glad you managed to resolve your issue, but let this be a lesson: ALWAYS backup both your rawnand.bin AND the boot0/1 files. Also, I am curious, you said you used a guide to backup. May I ask which guide? I'd like to know if the guide actually did state to also backup boot0/1, because you are by far not the only 1 to make this mistake, and I want to know why people keep making the mistake of only backing up the rawnand.bin.

Well, keep in mind that despite my noob level, I was more noob when I followed it. So I'm definitely not going to say that I might nog have missed out on something. But here goes:

Well, the "good news", if you can call it that, is that you didn't miss out on anything. The idiot that made the guide specifically mentions backing up the rawnand.bin and even explains the GPP Partitions, but doesn't at all mention the boot files. Every person that follows that video and have to restore their nand backup at some point will semi-brick they Switch because of this...

1 more thing: Never follow a video guide for your first Switch hacking tutorial. I know it seems tempting, but when you have absolutely no experience with switch hacking, you won't catch on to any mistakes or question anything the uploader does. There have been alot of people who have bricked their Switches while following a video guide where the creator either makes a mistake or accidentally cuts something important from the video.

EDIT: Thanks for fueling my curiosity BTW XD

Consider one of the cheaper USB C to 3.5mm adapters, too. It is technically a DAC as well but less featured, less powerful, and less configurable than something like the FiiO but WAY cheaper and slimmer. https://www.amazon.com/Headphone-Adapter-JSAUX-Compatible-Samsung/dp/B07XYQ2ZKH That'll get you a lot closer to plain ol plug-in headphones

That paired with any normal IEMs. KZ ZSN Pro are the cheapies that I actually really liked lol

It's been discontinued but you can find em second hand. It's the FiiO model K1.
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@SylverReZ nice. I've been using my BTR5 pretty much daily, got it in late 2020. Mostly use it as a desktop DAC though and the battery has already swelled up in it once, so I had to replace it. Some day I gotta grab a proper desktop DAC that doesn't have a battery lol

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@K3Nv3, Yeah, cheap and nasty earbuds don't deliver the best mids, they end up sounding really muddy.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Sicklyboy, I got mine around 2022 (iirc) and it was brand new, never opened, and for £15 too compared to paying nearly £30 elsewhere.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Sicklyboy, That sucks when the battery already begins to swell up. You considering on a desktop replacement, and if so, which one?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@SylverReZ damn 15 is shockingly cheap for that. Even 30 feels like a good price just given what a bunch of other FiiO stuff costs. Granted, not familiar with what those were originally selling for, so who knows lol

  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
As far as a replacement for my BTR5, I don't really have my eyes set on anything specific yet but it'll likely be from either Fiio or Schiit Audio.

    Better than tree fiddy
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Sicklyboy, Originally when it came out, they sold for around $40 USD according to FiiO's news bulletin. https://www.fiio.com/newsinfo/54677.html

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Sicklyboy, I would prefer FiiO as the better brand for a USB DAC.

I feel like headphones reached a peak even ones from ten years ago sound better than new ones
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@K3Nv3, all depends how much money you wanna spend. I had skullcandy headphones and shit way back when but I never liked anything as much as the headphones (and earbuds) I use nowadays

  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@SylverReZ yeah fwiw I've been quite happy with my FiiO BTR5 so I don't have any specific reason to not a FiiO again. Just gotta see what's available and how much I'm trying to spend lol
