so im on n3ds 10.3fw (already set the DNS to block update nag) trying to break the regionlock.
ive been trying to get browserhax working for hours now but it keep telling me "somehitng went kaputt and i need to restart"

any ideas ?

EDIT : i solved it by just removing tubehax DNS set it to auto and basically following this thread https://gbatemp.net/threads/browserhax-is-still-working.400991/
speed is really is the key

FACEPALM,like that other thread, First do you not know that 10.6 is out? That means that you can't use the browser in a older firmware ,the 10.4 update message cause 10.3 browsers or below to crash since it shows wrong data

i didnt aware of that
so im out of luck then any alternatives ? i just want to get the break the region restriction

I had new3DS 3DS on 10.3 and browser hax perfectly worked while the last known update was 10.5

What 10.6 did change on browserhax if the N3DS is still in 10.3 ?

this post could be wrong, I don't know if the update nag is now enabled, but anyway...

technically, the strings to show the update nag don't exist in the New3DS browser for 10.2.0-28 and 10.3.0-28. so Nintendo probably enabled the nag, but the browser is crashing trying to show the messages.

https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/Internet_Browser#Forced_system-update
For whatever reason, the above message strings [update nag] were removed with New3DS-browser v10.2, then re-added with v10.4. This does not apply to the Old3DS browser. Whenever v10.2 New3DS browser tries to use these message-strings for displaying a browser-update-related message, it will crash due to an assert failing since the message-strings are missing. Hence, if/when the v10.2 update-check page is ever updated where the browser tries to display a message for it, or when accessing that page fails, the browser will automatically crash.

You will need Ocarina of Time plus a friend with homebrew or Cubic Ninja.
i moved to japan recently and its pretty stressfull not being able to get new games, this wont be possible since every cartridges in the region wont work

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

try cleaning cookies or whatever and do it again several times.
i did try it for couple hours then cried a little and try asking for help

Try deleting the webkit payload of your sd card and using again the browserhax apending some garbage string at the end of the url, like this:

auto.php?agdvrd

I'm a bit confused - should browserhax still work on 10.3 if Tubehax DNS is set?

I have a N3DSXL Fates edition being imported next week which will be on 10.3. I ordered OoT US version just in case things go wrong, but I was hoping to get started with Browserhax.

If you're lucky enough, you can delete the update nag, set the tubehax dns and run browserhax with a couple of tricks... but you'll need quite a few tries.

Just tried on my 10.3 n3ds and browserhax worked on the first try.
Maybe you would need to erase the cookies or reset browser settings.

Edit: I am not using the Tubehax DNS
Edit 2: Once you got browserhax working, install menuhax.

I don't understand. It will be straight out the box so the update nag shouldn't be a problem unless I boot up the browser without Tubehax? Or no?

Or are you talking about deleting the system update nag?

Try with tubehax dns.
If it doesn't work, try without it.
If still not works, you should try deleting the browser update nag (there are tutorial for n3ds in this forum).

can you show me where?

Opening the browser and seeing the update nag once stores it to savedata and blocks it PERMANENTLY.

the only info I can find says it gets saved to the system and can't be deleted.

Edit: I don't know where I read it but there was a thread explaining how to delete the nag.
Something like booting the system on recovery mode and pressing cancel right away.

That's the system update nag http://3dbrew.org/wiki/Recovery_Mode

I'm not aware of it fixing the browser nag.

Thanks for the rest of the info. I'll see where I get to when it arrives next week
