Did you place all of the contents of the 3ds-homebrew-starter pack on the root of your sd card?
If you don't know what the "root" of your sd card is, it's the folder that is already opened when you open the sd card itself.

There's no need to press A, for Sliderhax just zoom in as close as you can and tap the right side, it's just not very reliable and fails many times.

Maybe it's the N3DS I'm thinking of. Somewhere I heard if you do something with the A button it should help
