Hy,

I remember there being some files that can brick your DS.
So now my question is, is there a way to scan the files for any danger of bricking?
Like some sort virus scanner to scan files for these dangers..

and isn't there a danger for these files to enter via wifi?
and can there be something done about this?, or does bricking your ds kill the warranty?

I really don't want my new DS lite to turn in a useless brick.

It really would be nice if there was some sort of protection homebrew thing against these things.

their is
it's called flashme
... and if you screw up the flashme, you can brick your ds too.

3.3 Brick

A non functioning unit. A DS/GBA/PSP that has been corrupted and will no longer work; resulting in it being a heavy unusable paperweight, i.e. brick.
The most common way of bricking Nintendo DS consoles is when an error occurs during the installation of flashme. Replacing the operating system is a risky operation, so proceed carefully.

There is only one homebrew with the bricking virus, so you don't need to worry.

Just don't download something until someone else downloads it.

Only idiots brick their DS's when flashing them. If you have even a little bit of intelligence it's pretty much impossible to screw up. I've flashed over 20 DS Phats, and over 10 DS Lites. I've even UNflashed a few DS phats and lites, which is more dangerous than the initial flashing but still easy as hell. Also, getting rid of the health screen warning is also nice.

You can use dslazy to scan for this "crashme", but I have never even seen a piece of malware for the DS avalible for download.
You could flash your DS, but it is very Dangerous to flash a lite. If you had a phat, it would be no trouble, but for now just download from trusted sites.
