I was sure it could be done, in fact i also managed to create a new working nand that i successfully flashed to my wii, was gonna come on here and tell you how i did it but seeing as you worked it out then its all good

Like others have said make sure you got ALL the brick protection possible... BootMii, Nand backup and Priiloader
