I had a real scare the other day. My Vita would hang at the PS logo at boot. Safe Mode menu would appear after a forced shutdown... Tell it to rebuild but still froze in the same spot. Various patterns of flashing blue PS light too after a tap of the power button. I know I knocked the mainboard quite a few times days ago with pliers as I removed the 3G modem - Had to gnaw through it as no such T2 screwdrivers worked - but no such symptoms like this happened.

Turns out my SD2Vita, now configured to be uma0 secondary storage via YAMT Full, wasn't detecting the card. Previously (before I got my PSVSD, which is now ux0), with YAMT Lite mounting SD2Vita as ux0, the behavior for not detecting the card would be a very lengthy database update and trashing my icon layout. Scary change in behavior. Maybe the advanced settings in YAMT Full (looks like a bunch of if / else scenarios) could handle this better.
