Well BootMii Core is the Bootloader I think, so I guess BootMii Mini is the IOS replacement, letting you run things on starlet without patching an existing IOS or making your own replacement.

Thanks i believe you made your point, can we move on. I'll be extra careful how i word my post from now on and by the way, i'm still looking forward a system menu replacement similar to the APP freedom , and this time i'll mention this is just my opinion to those that couldn't understand what i was getting at the first time around.

Maybe it isn't related with size or functionality. AFAIK MINI stands for "Mini is not IOS" (a recursive name just like GNU's)...

I really hope it comes out soon. Team Twizzers surely does take into account all posible bugs, failures and all that stuff, so they have to take their good time developing this

Hopefully this comes soon, since my Wii bricked tonight, a .wad corrupted my system menu AND removed preloader... Oh well, someday this will fix me, hopefully. Until then PS3 here I come.

i don't think it will help you unless you have it installed, that you could do on a working wii.

mini -- this is a rudimentary replacement for IOS that is best suited for low-level recovery functions. Source code is available under GPLv2 at (tbd).

would this my the bootmii mini to be released soon?
does it mean that the mini is not boot2 patch just a IOS replacement like preloader??

what? i thought it was a way to load the HBC straight from SD? I have a second working Wii in my home, would I be able to use that in any way to unbrick the wii? I KNEW updating to 4.0 was a bad idea...

EDIT: Can someone remind me, I thought there was something where if you opened a gamecube controller and held down all 4 directions on startup you could enter recovery mode or something? I am not thinking of holding down Y with Starfall, because obviously I can't do that.

This is true, but you still have to get it onto your Wii first, and for this, it being not bricked is required.

Hmmm... Well I HAD SoftMii, upgraded to 4.0, so I don't know what "broke" with that. I installed Preloader v .29... Softmii HAD Starfall, but here is where I bricked. I was installing a "cIOS 60" and when it rebooted my Wii I got a system files corrupt message. Went through preloader to the HBC and used WadManager to uninstall cIOS 60. Now when I turn the Wii on it just goes right a black screen. I think 4.0 wont read trucha discs without the cIOS 60 (right?) so autoboot would be out. If I bought a chip how would that help, just asking because a chip could be less expensive than sending it into Nintendo... Would it allow me to basically boot a disc as soon as the Wii turns on regardless of how "bricked" it is?

I doubt it, but does Preloader still work? I could be wrong on this, but I think that on 4.0, the System Menu uses IOS60, which is what you deleted.
