Hacking boot mii question

Ok, this must be really easy to most experienced guys out there so i need some help. I cant install boot mii. I am using hackmii installer v0.2, i put it in apps folder in my sd but the homebrew channel shows nothing. Can someone give me a hand? im on 4.0 E

SD:/apps/EXAMPLE/boot.dol
did you named it correctly, and put it in a new folder in apps one ?

F:\apps\hackmii_installer_beta2


F is the Sd slot, and i got no dol in hack installer, i got 4 files - credits - license -read me - installer.elf
Theres no dol there, any sugestion?

rename the elf to boot.elf

Just one more noob question, why dont the guys who make these applicantions dont give us the files with the right names? why do we have to rename files to work? i really dont understand why

Because there are other methods launching homebrew.

Sometimes they'll name a file a certain way to avoid confusion for the end user. Hey, I have fifteen boot.dol files, which one is the one I want?
