Hacking boot mii boot 2

I wasn't being an "a$$" at all, i was just foreseeing a thread with wii-hacking 101 questions, which you should know before even trying to dare mod a wii. Now that you indirectly managed to get a few personal assistants here already willing to breastfeed you, I might just as well tell you what you need to do.

Dowload the latest hackmii installer (v 0.8) > bootmii.org (or .com idk... google.. i would say)
run it from HBC.

now pay attention... here comes the hard part...

READ whats on the screen, it will tell you if you can install bootmii as boot2 or as IOS only.

Your problem should have been solved when I posted this... and yet you didn't notice... oh well

If u run the hackmii installer, it will tell u what is installed (ie. what can be uninstalled) and what can be installed

Let me make this clear: If Bootmii is the VERY FIRST THING to load when you turn on your Wii (before Priiloader or the system menu) then you have bootmii/boot2. If you don't have it, then run the hackmii installer again to install it if you can.

Bootmii/boot2 is useful because it's the best brick protection out there, as it remains even if you lose your system menu or brick it in some other way.

ok not to drag this on but i went to hackmii and it said it can only be installed as an ios so does that mean i cant do boot 2 any why

Newer wiis can't install bootmii boot2, because the boot1 bug that allows to modify boot2 is fixed.

The IOS install still offers protection, unless your IOS's get stubbed or damaged then no.

It depends, on how you brick it..
Priiloader is more useful in you're case, but combine it with bootmii ios (savest as you can get)
Also: you can always restore nand flash with a infectus chip (not for noobs, you also have to be a pro in soldering)

Well, I wont respond to all the flaming, although I think you all need to chill, but...

The fact is, as long as you keep a good working nand backup from bootmii then your wii is able to be unbricked no matter what with an infectus (unless hardware failure of course). I recommend to do a nand backup maybe once a week (so you can keep your saved games up to date), and also make a backup before you install ANYTHING on your wii. There are a few members on this forum that can fix your wii if you brick it and you have a nand backup.

Make sure to keep a good copy of your nand backup on your PC in a safe place and do not ever delete it.
