Hacking Blocking wii.com in router

hey guys! ok, i blocked wii.com in my router... this should prevent nintendo form bothering about updates... since they cant talk to me anymore

but now i have a question. Can i still send and receive mail, play online, and do other online related things like opera...??? Animal Crossing especially!!!

The updates come from wii.com don't they? You probably need a wildcard though or IP's.

Well, that is a subdomain of wii.com so updates do come from there. You are right that just blocking wii.com will not block that address, unless like I said you use wildcards.

I like you ignore the fact that if the Wii automatically updates on 3.3, then shouldn't your Wii be at 3.4 just because you said you got the message about the update?

You don't want your Wii to update by yourself, you said you got the new message about the update. Using your logic, it should had 'updated' already, isn't this why you're hellbent on stopping all updates right now?

Unless you're content with 3.4 and just want to stop future updates, is this what you want to do?

Well my DI-524 allows you to block the whole wii.com domain (no wildcard needed).

I now have no access to the Weather and News channels (big deal).
