They dont have many bleach games in Europe - allthough i doubt the bankai sign (much like the german Swastika) has anything to do with it
smile.gif
as if a european release was made - they would most likely alter it, and whatever text would have it in would be translated as well.

Anyways
smile.gif
i think i'll give it a go ^^ and patch my game now and well, more or less run it through from start to end
biggrin.gif
(even though theres so much text >_< rpg's are not quite as fun when
you dont know whats going on
tongue.gif
but oh well.) and see what problems i run into.

edit: just started playing now
smile.gif
its nice with the few changes i can see allready ^^ naturally lots missing still.
And is it just me or did you add a Noitora commercial when you engage battle
tongue.gif

Anyway so far what is translated seems fine ^^

As for suggestions (think it was mentioned a few posts back) to next step on translation, i have a few
biggrin.gif

1. The guide screens
At the beginning of the game, e.g. first time you enter the item menu and such it gives a brief overview of what icons mean what and what you can do there (it does that with alot of things) ^^ those could be nice.

2. The fighting, theres some of the fighting areas where you can hit, think its B or X, to alter something with the attack. Im not really sure what it changes
tongue.gif
so a translation of that would be nice as well.
edit2: Think i noticed what it is now, its to choose between blocking & remaining open, where if you remain open take more damage
tongue.gif
but allows for counter-attack.

hmm, well for small things thats about it.

Another suggestion as well ^^ i noticed you made it with the Super Robot Taisen game, the excel like sheet with all the lines and whatnot. Perhaps something similar to that ^^ where people could submit translations could be nice? then translation might also be faster ^^ as people can translate a line or whatnot if they have the time.

I already did that but nobody translated from the spreadsheets so I just removed them.

And actually the Swastika and Bankai sign look so much alike because Ban's the weird symbol and it means "Final Release?" I think thats what it means but yea its not Bleach that made it look like that its just how you say that in japanese

I had actually did quite a few that i knew of. As well as fixed the Arrancar's names. If i knew more japanese i could of translated more of that.

Just as a reminder. The wiki has a ton of stuff already labeled.

QUOTE said:
* 1. Restrain (?, sai?)[6] — Locks a target's arms in place behind their back.
* 4. Crawling Rope (??, hainawa?)[7] — An energy rope entangles a target's arms.
* 9. Strike (?, geki?)[8] — Engulfs a target in red light, completely paralyzing them.
* 58. Summoning of the Tracking Sparrows (????, kakushitsuijaku?)[9] — Tracks and locates any spiritual force the user focuses on. To activate it, the user must draw a circle on the ground, cut into four parts with a specific character in each. The incantation animates the circle, causing various numbers to appear within until the specific set is found. The number set seems to be a variation on longitude and latitude.
* 61. Six Rods Prison of Light (????, rikuj?k?r??)[10] — Summons six thin, but wide, beams of light that slam into a target's midsection, holding them in place. Referred to as "Six Rod Light Restraint" in the English manga and "Six Bars of Light" in some of the games.
* 63. Chainlike Desert (????, saj? sabaku?) — The target is wrapped from the neck down in a thick chain.
* 75. Quintet of 1 kan Iron Pillars (????, goch?tekkan?)[11] — Summons five incredibly tall and thick pillars to pin a target to the ground.
* 77. Heavenly Rickshaws in Silken Air (????, tenteik?ra?)[12] — Transmits messages to anyone within a specific area. In addition to reciting the spell, the user must draw specific markings on their arms, which are animated by the spell to convey the messages.
* 81. Splitting Void (??, dank??)[13] — Creates an energy barrier in the form of a rectangular wall. According to Byakuya, it is capable of stopping destructive spells up to #89.
* 99, Part 1. Seal (?, kin?, Restrict in the English dub) — Binds the arms of a target with spiritual fabric and iron shafts.[14]
* 99, Part 2. Great seal (??, bankin?) — This spell's effects are divided into three "songs":
o First Song: Halting Fabric (?????, shokyoku: shiry??) covers a target from head to toe with spiritual fabric.
o Second Song: Hundred Linked Bolts (??????, nikyoku: hyakurensan?) stabs the target with numerous metal blades.
o Final Song: Great Seal of 10,000 Forbiddings (???????, sh?kyoku: bankin taih??)[15] smashes the target with an immense metal cube.

[edit] Destructive spells

* 1. Thrust (?, sh??)[16] — Pushes the target away from the caster.
* 4. White Lightning (??, byakurai?)[17] — Fires a concentrated bolt of lightning from the caster's forefinger.
* 31. Shot of Red Fire (???, shakkah??)[18] — Fires a ball of red energy at a target.
o The English dub uses the phrase "Red Flame Cannon" in conjunction with the Japanese name. It also incorrectly identifies this spell as bakud? 33 in certain scenes, though correctly identifies it in the scene in which it is revealed.
* 33. Blue Fire, Crash Down (???, s?katsui?, Pale Fire Crash in the English dub)[19] — Fires a burst of blue spiritual energy at a target in a similar manner to 31, but over a wider area and with more power.
* 54. Abolishing Flames (??, haien?)[20] — Fires a blast of purple spiritual energy that will incinerate a target completely when it makes contact.
* 63. Thunder Roar Cannon (???, raik?h??)[21] — Fires a massive wave of yellow energy at a target.
* 63. Twin Lotus Blue Fire, Crash Down (?????, s?ren s?katsui?)[22] — Essentially a doubled version of #33, this spell fires two shots of blue fire with greater potency than the single-shot variety. In the anime, Rukia labels this spell as #73.
* 88. Flying Dragon Striking, Heaven-Shaking, Lightning Cannon (????????, hiry?gekizokushintenraih??)[23] — Fires a massive blast of spiritual energy in a fashion similar to a laser.
* 90. Black Coffin (??, kurohitsugi?)[24] — Forms a box of black energy around a target, which is then pierced by dozens of energy "spears", lacerating the one inside from head to toe. Aizen notes that the spell only reached a third of its destructive potential the one time he uses it, indicating that the spell would be far more damaging at full power. Its appearance and function is reminiscent of a common magician's trick, as well as certain torture devices used during the Spanish Inquisition.

[edit] Other

These spells are not explicitly stated to be in one category or the other.

* White Crawl (??, hakufuku?)[25] — Momo Hinamori uses this spell while imprisoned to knock out a guard and destroy everything within a certain radius of herself. The anime suggests that it is a binding spell, but doesn't number it.
* Mirror Door (??, ky?mon?)[26] — T?shir? Hitsugaya used this to seal Momo Hinamori's hospital room. It creates a glass-like barrier which is difficult to break from the outside, but quite simple to break from the inside.
* Reverse Demon (??, hanki?)[27] — This technique nullifies an opponent's kid? by hitting them with a perfectly opposite surge of energy. Yoruichi uses this against Soifon's shunk?.
* Temporal Stasis (????, jikanteishi?)[28] — A forbidden spell used by Tessai along with k?kanten'i.
* Spatial Displacement (????, k?kanten'i?)[29] — A forbidden spell used by Tessai with jikanteishi to teleport a specified portion of space from one point to another, transporting even other active kid? spells.

The character "?" (ban) by itself is pronounced "manji" in Japanese, and it originally comes from Jain Dharma, an old Indian religion. An Indian monk named Bodhidharma was influenced by Jain teachings, and he brought some of these teachings to China, where it evolved into Buddhism and eventually found its way into Japan. When Buddhism was introduced to Japan, the manji symbol was also introduced. It has always had a spiritual meaning in Eastern culture for thousands of years. It wasn't until relatively recently that a lunatic by the name of Hitler came along and used the manji for his own twisted purposes and f-ed up its meaning for Westerners. Notice that the Buddhist manji is not pointed in the same direction as the Nazi Swastika, so they're not the same symbol. In Japan, the manji symbol is used today on maps to mark the locations of temples and other spiritual places.

The part that says "?" (kai) by itself means "unravel, untie." So the literal translation of "??" (bankai) is something along the lines of "unleash spiritual energy."

Nice job so far guys, aside from what's been said already, here are my added suggestions and known issues with the current patch.

Known Issues:

[Zanpakut? upgrade screen]
- A number of character's names (displayed on the top screen) need to be corrected, i.e. Abarai Renji.

- When attempting to raise the level of your zanpakut? (via the zanpakut? upgrade screen) some skills and skill descriptions don't carry over or aren't translated. This also carries over to when viewing the skills and skill descriptions of a character's zanpakut? (by pressing the R button when viewing a character's skills).

- The Zanpakut? translations have to be corrected to display their names and not their literal meanings (check Wiki for them or perhaps someone can make a detailed list).

Suggestions:

- Title screen menu translation

- Standby menu screen translation

- Battle menu screen translation

- Zanpakut? upgrade screen stat translation

Looking forward to future releases.

*See the two characters with silver? I don't know what they're considered in game in that thing, but they are considered Healers that are weak to everyone.
*The buttons at the top of the screen. Y is Sort, X is Stats, Select is the menu, and Start is obviously go.The characters in the "silver" category say "??" (hisen), which means "non-combatant." As you said, they are support characters and do not actually fight.

The START button is for ?? (shutsugeki), which means "sortie." Yeah, "sortie" means "exit" in French, but in English "sortie" means "strike." Just a little extra FYI, "???" (shutsugekitai) means "strike force." But the START button can be translated "Go," it doesn't really matter as long as it gets the message across. We will have to take liberties in translating since a lot of English words are much longer than the Japanese equivalents and won't fit in the space given.

*Falling into the nitpicking category, skills and items aren't capitalized.
*With intense what? D: Actually going through a lot of these, a lot of the descriptions are cut off. Is this intentional or something beyond your power?I agree, the words "Skills" and "Items" should be capitalized. That would get on my nerves because I'm just obsessive-compulsive like that
tongue.gif
Just so you know, I had nothing to do with the translation of that screen
ninja.gif

I'm not sure why the text displays all weird like that, I'm strictly in the Department of Translations. That question would be best answered by the ROM Hacking Division

QUOTE(Gaisuto @ Jul 20 2008, 09:38 AM)
*A few of the actual names are mixed up for character's. The descriptions are accurate to what they should be but the names themselves are mixed up. Like Byakuya's displays Renji's, while Renji has Hitsugaya's. I haven't noticed any others that have this mistake and I'll check them out after this battle I'm in now.
*The game kinda freaks out when you unlock somebody.
Again, beyond my scope of knowledge, since I don't know the manga very well yet and I have absolutely no skills whatsoever in hacking ROMs. I did, however, start playing the game today so hopefully I'll have a better sense of what I'm doing when I translate from now on.

I'll be standing by for Noitora's next translation orders
happy.gif

By all means, keep nit-picking away!

*EDIT*
It just came to me that another word that really captures the meaning of "??" (shutsugeki) would be the word "deploy." When I read the word "shutsugeki," it strikes me as a very militaristic term.

Hi, just noticed a couple of mistakes.

In the Zanpaktou level up screen:
strain Attack should be changed to Move power + 1
Move Power + 1 should be changed to Zanpaktou slot + 1

The 3 main enhancements to skills need better description.
Demon Aria inproves accuracy of skill. I think that's right.
Proficency increases strength of skill.
Strengthen Support reduces SP for skill.
You could put the description in the info box at the bottom.

Hope that helps.

We don't know yet, there are still many things to fix and translate.I doubt it'll take more than 1-2 months to translate the whole game except the story though.

Can anyone put the latest patch on rapidshare or something, firelink or whatever webstite that's on the first page is broken.
