Just downloaded this game and its freaking awesome.
I was wondering what is the likely hood of the game having its controls and menu translated to English? in patch form or what not.
and in the absence of that a guide perhaps?
so far I'm just button mashing.

I'd imagine low given that it's number 7 of a popular franchise. Most of the people who are playing it already know the system inside out from the previous 6.

i have played number 6 before but got lost alot in the story mode with missions where it wasnt fighting, as well as it being ages ago.
well, if its unlikely i guess i can only wait and hope someone does do one.

it was more getting basic controls and menus translated so i can understand which combos do what, and what the objective of a mission might be, rather than just wing it.
example would be on the yammy released fight using renji, rukia and sado, i had no idea what to do and it took me about ten goes to get it.

I'm more turned off that games like these don't see console time.

I think Bleach is somewhat just as popular as Naruto is at this point, to warrant a worldwide console title.

You mean the words written at the start of every mission? Those aren't objective. Those are more like conditions. For mission 8 (Yami vs your 3 characters), it says "Opponent's has higher hp". This means you have to beat Yami, who has higher hp than you. That's all. Basically, most missions are cleared by you killing your opponents, or getting their health down to half while they have higher speed, higher defense, higher reaitsu (these also applies to you sometimes, for example Captain Yamamoto with max reaistu vs Chimera hollow). There are a few that requires you to just survive for 30 seconds (Ichigo's mission 4), or kill opponent with a reaitsu ougi attack (soifon's mission 15). Anyway, when in doubt, just kill the opponent as fast as you can to get an S rank to unlock all missions.

When you press pause during fighting, you will get a menu.
Option 1: Continue Battle
Option 2: button configuration
Option 3: button layout
Option 4: Combo list
Option 5: End battle
At the bottom, there is a green box telling you which mission this is and the conditions of the mission.

Next, by default, these are what each buttons do, which you can see by pressing option 3.
X: weak attack
circle: strong attack
square: Release reaistu (hold button to charge gauge)
triangle: jump (double tap to dash forward in air, double tap + back on analog stick to dash backward in air)
Left shoulder button: change targeted opponent (in case you are fighting many opponents)
right shoulder button: defend/block (press this at the right timing when an opponent attacks to parry him)
square + circle: special attack
square + X/ square + triangle: reaistu ougi attack (requires at least 1 level in reaitsu gauge)
left + right shoulder buttons: boost (Only available when reaistu gauge is at max. Increases attack and defense, and you can use reaistu ougi attack for an infinite number of times until the gauge runs out)

For the combo list, all the names are "Combo #1, combo #2, combo #3 ...", so you can just try them out yourself.

What else do you need to know?
