So to give some context, I haven't touched online, or any modding on my switch in around 3 years. Right around 3 years ago, when I mostly stopped using my switch (it just sat as a christmas entertainer for the years up until now), I had decided to delete all mods in attempt to essentially make it 'legit'. I had obviously done a bad job of doing this, because once I eventually came back to it today, I tried to update, and now all I get is a black screen.

*EDIT* To clarify on the last sentence, I believe I have bricked my switch, but I have read that there are ways around this.

I have looked around online, but all I can see is people posting that all I'd need to do is boot back into RCM (I still have my jig), but obviously it doesn't work, because I don't have the files... So then I made my best attempt at installing what I thought I needed but once again, I ran into issues, or made a mistake again and it didn't work.

Could someone please help me with this please!

I have a v1 switch if that's relevant.

You could have the issue that occured a while ago when uopdating HOS (don't remember the version) if you had previously used homebrew to reset the SysMMC. If that is the case you can solve it by donwloading the latest Atmosphere and extract the zipo to your SD card. Put the Switch in RCM and use fusee.bin as payload. Make sure you don't have an EmuiMMC on your SD card. If the Switch start then turn it off again, remove Atmosphere from your SD card and start it normally.
