Sunshell does from what i read. But the supported format are wierd. Plus. I tried installing it to my n3ds xl. Somehow it dosent load. Just black screen.
I think that it only supports 2d movies.
Another option is to convert the movies for the integrated camera APP. But there is a 10 minutes limit.

That and the videos, which are normally 24/29fps, have to run at 20fps on the 3DS. It looks weirdly choppy.

That china-made app is wonderful, tested with the One Piece sample provided. works great =). Here's the tutorial in English from Google Translate

Explanation:
This tool allows new 3ds play mp4 video format on your computer, do not need to use the credit card to unlock.
Author: 44670
My blog: http: //44670.org, will be updated from time to time.

How to use:
1 First, the good has to transcode mp4 video format to video catalog copy, you can copy multiple.

2 Run START.bat open service.

3 Enter 3ds browser to http: // computer's IP address: 3000.
(For example, suppose your computer's IP address is 192.168.1.100 you should enter http://192.168.1.100:3000)
If you can not open the page 3ds recommended to disable Windows Firewall or set exceptions.

4 Click on the video to watch.

Yeah I just watched the first half hour of Rio (provided in the linked post), taking a break but it looked/worked great. Pondering what would be a good movie to try out if I can be bothered with conversion.

Normal if you don't read README file :D. Also currently JPGV format has a good compression ratio if you use correct parameters in vid2jpgv (a good example for anime reproduction is 24fps, Vorbis audiocodec, 24000hz as samplerate using LQ images).

I think that it only supports 2d movies.

Currently SunShell support only 2D videos but in next release 3D videos support will be added (lpp-3ds natively support 3D JPGV files.

Just use Plex. Prior to running a video, open the settings, select player, then reduce the quality settings( 480p 1.5mps local, disable direct everything). Downside is that plex's webpage is not optimal for the 3ds, plus side is that it supports remote streaming.

Will you add other format support? Something more common like mp4? I don't really know if 3d video requires a special format.

No you don't need special containers but, as i said, MP4 is only a container. Using it instead of JPGV container doesn't change nothing. (Only other codes to be adapted to 3DS like libmp4)

Is it possible to make the New 3DS internet browser read files on microSD card? Or make a homebrew to take advantage of the video decoder chip on New 3DS?
