Hacking Question Best way to get exFat working on Switch?

Hello guys,

i have a short question, whats the best way to get exFat working? Im still waiting for my SX PRO, but it should arrive soon. So, no i have 2 switches 1x with 2.0.3 and 1x with 3.0.1, so both dont have exFat.

I know it would be possible to upgrade to 5.1.0 and have the official exFat support or do the work around. Now im not sure what happens when i want to play for example Mario Odessy (which needs 3.0.1+ on my 2.0.3 Firmware, is SX OS able to handle this?

So could i play newer games on a lower FW or do i have to install the latest OFW? because in this case it would makes no scense to do the work around.

You can't load backups with SX OS which require a higher firmware than the one your console is on.

Thanks for your answer. So this is the work around i mentioned, i already knew it, but when i cant play any of my backuped games without the latest firmware then there is no way without 5.1.0.

I left my switches untouched since Zelda / Mario Odessy, because of atmosphere, but as now the Homebrew Channel and so on also works with SX OS, there would be no need to wait.
