Hardware Best solution for upscaling to 4k?

I've bought 2 different M cables which claimed to upscale from 1080p to 4k. Both the Gaming Edition (red) and the Ultra (silver) when hooked up to my 65" TCL 4k TV display as 1080p. This is quickly making me rage, as I'm wasting time and money. Anyone able to find a better solution?

A simple cable can't upscale. Maybe could exist an external hardware but don't expect miracles... Play more distant from tv (for 65" I suggest 5 meters)

Just keep in mind that upscaling comes at a cost of quality of picture, and input lag. I almost never recommend scaling of any kind unless you have no other options.

I was aware of this, and it has a built in upscaler chip inside of the base of the connector on the cable. It also adds some post processing effects that make the image "appear" better looking.
What are you upscaling?
Also I would contact the manufacturer of the cable for detailed information
You are much better off to use something like a FrameMeister to do upscaling if you plan to use it for gaming purposes (depending on console of course)

I'm not really understanding the point of you wanting to upscale the Wii U since most games render at 720p and will look terrible either way on a 4K display, but if you're looking for the best option, I would go with a FrameMeister or an OSSC

The point is to get a smoother picture from my old Wii U on my newer tv. A framemeister only accepts up to 1080i and doesn't output to 4k, so that would be pointless.

Oh okay, I know how scalers work but I didn't know the specs for the other scalers. I've never ran into someone wanting to upscale with an external one before. Best of luck to you, sorry to be somewhat useless in your quest
