I'm particularly searching after a game like Fire Emblem.
So turnbased strategy/RPG.
Why emulate the NES when you can play the DS game? Advanced Wars Dual Strike is good, and the new Fire Emblem is coming out (i think).
Dont erase the question, answer it.
NES games vary but you can find some of them officialy ported to GBA and play with 100% compitbility, e.g. Castlevania.
Zelda and Super Mario games on the NES are top notch if you ask me. They are you best bet if you are looking for really good NES games to try on your DS
I dont like Zelda on the NES, its plain ugly, and that stops me from seeing the beauty of the game.
Ill try Super Mario and Castlevania.
EarthBound 0 definately since you're an RPG fan.
Creative and Original, too bad it was never released in US
(the EarthBound 0 ROM is full english, so don't worry )
Why even ask? Just dump all the (U) and (T+Eng) roms to your DS. They're tiny! I can fit hundredds of roms on hardly a fraction of my DS.
Now that I think about it: some DS games are bigger then my entire (U) NES collection.
I don't think strategy RPGs were invented before the 16bit era..
Actually a few notable ones were Famicom Wars 1 and 2 (predecessor to Advance and Battallion Wars) and the original Fire Emblem series.
Don put all games on your cart, you'll play none, thats pirate's curse.
Agreed. Had that issue a while back in which I would cram as many games onto my cart as possible and ended up bouncing between games so much I could never finish one.
Ops.. Forgot about Famicom Wars.. always thought Fire Emblem had started on the SNES..
Off topic: atleast you didn't use the phail button .
I sure there aren't many turnbased strategy/rpgs on the nes. But as far as i am aware the Final Fantasy games on the NES are turnbased and are RPG's aswell. That will be FF I-II
and if you know some basic Japanese you will find FF III quite fun aswell. Although not sure whether they are compatible or playable on NesDS.
Ah, how could I have forgotten the FF games? I would have recommended them in a heartbeat! Not so much FF 2 tho...
Ok ,tnx for the tips.
I just download FF I, but I dont expect much of it.
Usually when the graphics suck, I immedaitely shut down the game...
I know, its bad, but I cant help it
Also, whats the best NES emulator on the PC?
But it's NES...the graphics are destined to be horrible but the gameplay is all that matters
Nester is one of my all time favorite NES emulators.
I use FCEU on the PC, i think it's the best out there...
For Final Fantasy... you should try the PSX/GBA/PSP remakes..
I know that the gfx are destined to be horrible, but I cant help it
I will only try to complete an ugly game when I know its worth it, because I already played it or so.
Like Fire Emblem, I know thats gonna rock, but now the stupid language and bugs are stopping me...
Why isnt there a Fire Emblem for the regular GB/GBC
If you have a GBA flashcart, you could play the FF1/FF2 remakes. They have improved graphics over their NES counterparts, and best of all; it's portable FF.
