Dont erase the question, answer it.

NES games vary but you can find some of them officialy ported to GBA and play with 100% compitbility, e.g. Castlevania.

Zelda and Super Mario games on the NES are top notch if you ask me. They are you best bet if you are looking for really good NES games to try on your DS

Why even ask? Just dump all the (U) and (T+Eng) roms to your DS. They're tiny! I can fit hundredds of roms on hardly a fraction of my DS.

Now that I think about it: some DS games are bigger then my entire (U) NES collection.

I don't think strategy RPGs were invented before the 16bit era..

Actually a few notable ones were Famicom Wars 1 and 2 (predecessor to Advance and Battallion Wars) and the original Fire Emblem series.

Off topic: atleast you didn't use the phail button

I sure there aren't many turnbased strategy/rpgs on the nes. But as far as i am aware the Final Fantasy games on the NES are turnbased and are RPG's aswell. That will be FF I-II
and if you know some basic Japanese you will find FF III quite fun aswell. Although not sure whether they are compatible or playable on NesDS.

Ah, how could I have forgotten the FF games? I would have recommended them in a heartbeat! Not so much FF 2 tho...

But it's NES...the graphics are destined to be horrible but the gameplay is all that matters

I will only try to complete an ugly game when I know its worth it, because I already played it or so.
Like Fire Emblem, I know thats gonna rock, but now the stupid language and bugs are stopping me...

If you have a GBA flashcart, you could play the FF1/FF2 remakes. They have improved graphics over their NES counterparts, and best of all; it's portable FF.
