Gaming BEST IN A SERIES?

Good Day to everyone!! I made a topic before entitled Sequels, and now i'm back for another related question, in a series of games, what do you like and hate the most? the first one? the second etc.?

The 3rd game of Phoenix Wright is EPIC
The 1st one is okay but the 3rd rocked so hard
The 2nd is .. meh
i don't hate it , but the first and the third are much better

As they always say, third time's the charm.

3-5's Hazakurain arc was epic. One of the best stories I've heard.


Also, I've heard that Professor Layton is a trilogy as well.

It seems that the 2nd installment is better than the first one, which is kinda strange...

I wonder what the last one will be like.

For Pokemon, the first (RBY) was good.
The second one (GSC) was better.
The third one (RSE) was meh.
The fourth one (DP) was bad.

Maybe he has lost interest for Pokemon due to the repeating story... a kid with love and care... fighting a bunch of adults with group name taken from space objects, and then bully Elite Four.

Pokemon is good, but story gotta change at some point

And I agree, GSC was the best, however RBY system annoyed me

(I played them after I played GSC, so yeah)

lets hope that the next pokemon game will be much more different on those old battle system. DP still uses the old battle system...i played pokemon since it was first came out but now its already kinda boring.i hate those steady sprites we need some actions!!!lol

We need a complete overhaul.
Or we could just let the series die.

As for me, generally the 1st is usually the best, 2nd slightly dissapointing, 3rd is fucking awesome.
There are some exceptions though.

Let's see...

TMNT (NES) 2 was the best

Super Mario Brothers(NES) 3 was easily my favorite

Ninja Gaiden (nes) always played 2 the most

Streets of Rage (genesis) 2 by far

Sonic (genesis) 2, but if you include the Sega CD, that one is the best, even without the sonic 2 spin dash.
