it maybe better to buy a 500gb/640gb/1tb hdd since if you ran out with a 160gb you will have the same in 1/2 years with a 320 one it maybe better to just spend twice the money on a 1tb one

Only up to 750gb drives exist currently in the 2.5" domain.
nope: http://www.samsung.com/global/business/hdd...0&ppmi=1219
This drive is 12.5 mm in height. Max height for either PS3 phat or slim is 9 mm. 750GB is the current max storage for a 2.5", internal, 9 mm thick HDD.

EDIT: BTW, for an external I use this: http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/9796...nal-Hard-Drive/
Good price and it was within walking distance from my work ... and it comes pre-formatted to FAT32 right out of the box!

Actually, you were right the first time. 2.5" refers to the size of the platter inside of the case. These hdds come in 9mm and 12.5mm thickness as one has 2 platters while the latter has 3. All other dimension are the same.

so will my games like black ops load faster?
Are you referring to the game data or the game itself? I'm not certain that a 7200 rpm will have a noticeable difference over a 5400 rpm in a PS3. In fact, if you're referring to a jb'd PS3 (apologies in advance if you're not,) the 5400 rpm hdds are preferred as people with the faster ones have reported audio clipping during FMV with 7200 rpm hdds.
