Best Free Scanner Software.

There is one thing that I can't do from my Chromebox, scanning. With that said, I'm trying to setup a scan to Google Drive system with my Wife's PC. So far I've got her PC to recognize my scanner and I created a Google Drive linked folder for all scans to save to. My only issue is software. The software I have will "make a scan" but not save. Can anybody here recommend some sort of freeware I could use?
