Gaming Best COD on 360?

I've been looking at the cod series for a while but I don't wanna spend all this money on a new one like bo4 just yet, especially when lots of people complain about the newer games. What 360 cod would you recommend for me? I'm looking for the best cod experience (and hopefully a still lightly alive online community).

COD5 is a nice game. Last time I played, there was not many ppl online

Barring hackers...

Black Ops or 2 - Now that every single one is BC however you are going to run into hackers no matter what, it's pretty bad. AW is really good if you enjoy fast movement, COD4 is classic and MW3 I know is pretty active.

For the most players, go with Black Ops/2. They're the most active on 360.

I was looking at cod4 since a lot of people like it and used copies are super cheap, but I'll give the bo series a look as well, thanks!

COD MW 2 is my all time fave, for coop juggernauts iirc. Haven’t bothered with another one since.
