Best Anti-Virus/Internet security?

Forgot to mention about a firewall too. I had a look at the internet security package by Eset (NOD's developers) on a friend's PC and the firewall seemed alright but I didn't much like the firewall configuration. It seemed reliable enough though. reminded me a bit of Kerio's firewall (I think it was that one anyway).

I used to personally use Agnitum Outpost which was pretty simple to setup but I discovered soon enough that there was a bit of a bug in the engine that caused BSODs on some dual core/and simulated multi core systems so that had to come back off again. this was about a year ago but I have no idea if the problem was ever fixed. It was really common at the time though.

Norton is shit bloated system controlling crapware.

My antivirus is common sense.

Norton and Mcafee are horribly bloated and you can never get rid of them, no matter how hard you try.
It tries to take over your whole computer...

If you're willing to pay for an antivirus program then it should definitely be between Kaspersky and NOD32. My personal preference is Kaspersky, although I don't think that there is much difference between that and NOD32.

If you're after a free antivirus program then I recommend Avast. I've been testing it on my new machine for the past month as an alternative to AVG (which I had been using on a lot of machines for a couple of years) and so far I've been very impressed with it.

Nice yeah. My set up right now is NOD32, Spybot S & D, and windows firewall, windows defender, router firewall.

I couldn't really decide on an antispyware program although NOD32 is reporting that it has anti-spyware built into it. I figured I would just put SB S& D on as well. I'm not too worried about myself downloading anything malicious, but my wife gets like 800 forwarded emails a day from these dumb c*nts filled with e cards and awful jokes and pictures.

maybe you need to start a new topic or search for the spyware bit instead of hijacking your own thread ;P the antivirus thread was very successful already; link it to the new thread for a resourceful resource !

i was getting spammed 20 times a day (not as bad as 800) because i was using my main one for everything i did. now i have a new email which was hard because i didnt want to let go of the old email id ! if the spam is that much unbearable try one or more of these tips

-new email addy and even new mail site (gmail, yahoo, hotmail etc)
-grab as many contacts from your old addy to the new email addy and also forward the old email you want
-update the trusted sites where you have registered your email addy

^Well, the e-mail is from her friends and fam. The lot of them too stupid to know what half the stuff they are sending to her is. It's not so a much a spam problem as it is a fam problem lol

So NOD32 and Comodo are the best Anti-Virus/Firewall combo? What about spyware? I currently have Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware and for my anti-virus I have Symatec Corporate, although since I started using it, it seems like my pc is running slower than before...
