truth. i got a knockoff microsd to msproduo adapter and im almost splitting the front and back apart due to inserting the microsd cards once. damn POS
I actually have the same issue but it's just a small crack in outer shell. Adapter still works wonders I think I got it for $1.20 like 5 years ago.
I'd rather order from someone who does it for the community then some shoddy chinese company that does it for the cash.

I wouldn't be surprised if the SD adapter would end up the same as the R4.
Extremely shitty build quality and prone to breakage.
pomf3 on Chinese adapters.

@Dave_Chad I'd still wait it out before going in with the first wave.

Not sure why people knock these chinese sellers. They have much more experience with manufacturing, scale, and retail than any random kid with a youtube channel.

Past experiences.
Granted, they got the equipment to manufacture thousands at once and the funding to distribute them better but the quality is usually lacking.

Individual parts however are fine, it's the pre-assembled things which usually leave with disappointment.

I'm not saying they're good. I'm just saying they're much better than what random internet dudes can do.

I somehow trust someone doing small batches on their own, who tests each individual assembled adapter more then a chinese company that mass produces them.

Eh, Tellies are produced in china, much like any other electronic equipment.
I think it's just irrational fear from me side.

i've bought plenty of stuff from china and the quality has always been fine. Aesthetic wise yeah generally it's less good. But it's almost always functionally fine.

I personally steer clear of any no brand electrical devices from china.
Usually the lower the price, the poorer the quality.

Chargers, powerbanks, USB hubs etc.

I've also ordered a lot of things from china and 90% of it was of good quality, but there's so many cheap copies floating around that it's easy to fall for the low price.

From the pictures I've seen, random chinese sellers have much, much better soldering quality than random dudes. Not sure if those chinese sellers use machines to assemble it or if they have people who have much more experience (like it's their job) soldering.

I'm pretty sure they utilize teams of hand solderers.
Solder baths barely leave solder on the board as it's just a quick contact solder.
Mind sharing the pics?

All of the stuff i've bought from there has been the cheap stuff actually. I figure for their prices i don't really care if it breaks after a while. And if it arrives broken i just get a refund anyway. If i were to order it locally it'd cost literally 4 times as much. if not more. And if i can even find it. The SD2VITA thing i can't find locally at all of course. so gonna order from china. just shopping around atm.

It be funny if Sony thought fuck it, here is our official build of the adapter, as an apology for not allowing all generic MicroSD support from launch. However, wishful thinking I know, which will never happen.

Some pretty horrible "have a go soldering" on eBay UK right now....

I think I'd take a Chinese board before I parted with £14 for that.
Best part is he's selling them in bulk. Meaning he has like 100 or more of them. And that's the one he picked for the preview image. So it's probably one of the better made ones.

That said they probably work fine though.
