Did a minor refresh of my machine this week. Replaced my RX 480 with an RTX 2080 OC, and also did a minor upgrade of the CPU from an i5-4460 @ 3.2GHz to an i5-4760K @ 4.5GHz. Intel i5-4760K @ 4.5GHz 16GB DDR3 PC3-12800 Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 @ 1910/7950MHz 480GB SSD + 640GB SSD + 3TB HDD Obviously I need to upgrade from the Haswell CPU and DDR3 to something more modern, but it doesn't make sense to do that this side of the Zen 2. The 4760K cost me $20 after selling my 4460, meaning I essentially paid $20 to upgrade from 3.2GHz to 4.5GHz. Not bad as a stopgap!
Here is my rig, consiting of my desktop & Thinkpad. The graphics card was updated to an MSI 2080ti recently. Specs: AMD Ryzen 3800x on a 360mm Coolermaster AIO. 16gb of DDR4 3000mhz on an Asus B450-F Mobo. Corsair 1050w psu with a Corsair 780T case packing roughly 10TB of storage. The laptop is an almost top configured Lenovo W520 with an i7 2860QM, Quadro 2000M and 16gb of ram.
There's a lot going on with my desk so I'll break it down. Monitor is a Sceptre 24" 144Hz Curved Gaming Monitor. In front of that you see a PlayStation Classic with an OTG cable. I'm running Project ERIS on that. Next that that is my mini figure Pikachu and a pair of guitar picks. I always keep a couple on my desk. To the left is a wireless Logitech mouse that's old and kinda crappy. I use that with the Raspberry Pi 3 you see peeking out from behind the water bottle (It's in the SuperPi Case, so it looks like a small SNES). My wallet and 3DS are chilling to the left as well, and a SanDisk USB drive for OS installing or whatever. Then to the right of that you have my XB1 controller. Very big fan of this gamepad. Mostly use it wirelessly, but I don't mind plugging in occasionally. Beyond that is a pencil I don't really know where else to put. Now onto the good stuff. My nice Limited Edition white AudioBox USB sits to the right even more. I keep a guitar cable plugged in at all times. Other input is occupied by the Shure SM48 Microphone that Stitch is hugging in the foreground. There's a PowerA PS3 controller chilling off to the side of my mouse pad. The piece de resistance sits in the rear. My PC is my pride and joy. Inside the beautiful Phanteks Enthoo Pro Tempered Glass chassis lies an Asus ROG STRIX B350-F Gaming motherboard, 16GB G.skill Aegis DDR4-3000 memory, multiple HDDs of various capacities, an AMD Radeon VII 16GB HBM2 GPU, and at the heart, an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X clocked at 4GHz. She's a thing of beauty. I had a lot of fun typing this out even if no one ever reads it. Also the wallpaper in this room is terrible, I know.
This is my most recent upgrade to the battlestation. Main PC Specs: Ryzen 3900x RX 580 (yes I know, waiting for RTX 3000) 16GB 3200mhz (32GB 3600mhz next month)
Just finished mine with some braided cables. Green Joy-Con D-Pad Shells for Nintendo Switch Ryzen 5 3600X MSI RTX 3080 Ventus OC 32GB 3200MHz (x2 16GB) Asus VG27AQ 1440P 165Hz Monitor Corsair K68 Keyboard Logitech G503 Mouse Case is the Cooler Master H500P
Ugly 13 year old thing from the trash, still works, but maybe better for battling bad opinions on internet forums than for battling monsters in modern hyper realistic bloody games or whatever.
