Hardware Baseless Nintendo NX speculation thread

newGameBoy (as i like to call it ) will be following soon, they are part of the same family , third parties could target it easily from the home version using the new devkits,
on the other hand porting from mobile /nGB to home console will be easy too , so they will launched in a very short time probably.
let's say the gap between console and held launches will be no longer than 6 months .

if rumors about home and held sharing same Cpu are true then they could be launching in 3 months period ...and that would be HUGE ... like november to march period.

core m is still too expansive and amd does not even have a counterpart. Virtual arm on x86 is a lot easier than the other way around, considering it is kind of open source and intel has atom running arm with ease. And most modern engines came equipped with both processors, which the work can be done in a month under the same gpu.

Also I don't know how many of you guys have Miitomo, but a few days ago it asked me a question relating to VR and there's a VR headset in the clothing shop (not the Virtual Boy, it's definitely modern)

I don't know how much should be read into this, but at the very least Nintendo is recognizing the existence and relevance of VR

-i believe the wiiu iosu exploit will be released when the new system is officially announced.

-nintendo has been stuck on selling the same formula forever just mixed a little differently and they dont really know how to innovate any old games anymore.

-open world zelda was done with windwaker. Any dungeon first was done with Link Between Worlds. Open world flying was done with skyard sword. sidequest were done with majoras mask. Nothing new to zelda at all.

-no real mario game since 64, sunshine he had fludd, galaxy used twice nice concept but not real mario. 3d world was half a game. mario wii/luigiu had one garbage song only.

-most of their console games should be handheld games as they dont have that great amount of content, feature a massive world, and reluctant to truly give people a spectacular 720/1080 version of their branded characters. Nor do they want introduce simple changes like making mario a kid instead of a 35 yr old man with a firemans mustache

-theyll come out with a new handheld probably 360p and hopefully with 3d again with the same concept as 3ds only slight more powerful same stuff over and over

If you break down game so simple, then no recent game has been innovative. Plus making mario kid? Like Baby Mario and Baby Luigi? Not that the should or need change the main look of Mario.

They could just make the console compatible with VR headsets, PC and Sony. Why not? Sony makes bit more money and Nintendo doesn't have to focus on VR.

As long it is a 3D Tv they could do such a thing.
But most of VR HMDs are proprietary things,not stardard medium they will to use(in nintendo hate to pay licenses ...)
http://www.osvr.org/ is the solely open standard at the moment ... and big ones seem not to support it still ...

if ever there will be a newVirtualBoy more realistically will be proprietary like the others ...

Theyre recycling old features and calling it new for zelda games. Or adding features it shoulda had since the gamecube. Finally not using midi files for skyward sword 2012? Finally adding voice acting in 2016?

whats gonna be different? itll have native 540p graphics? open dungeons? doesnt sound too appealing.

The first rumors really got juices flowing but they've recently gotten sour. Does anybody care about nintendo except for the nintendo fan base? i dont really think so.

Its always darkest before dawn is the saying but i would not only like an live announcement but a live demo at e3 now with a finalized game. Not a stupid video presentation. Not like what microsoft alway does, playing off a super powered pc demo or pretend to play one trying hard to not show all the flaws in a game. I would like them to bring a machine on the floor and showcase a finished procuct of a console and handheld working together to bring a 'new' 'innovative' concept that is the 'NX'

I find it funny that people online tend to say "we want to see more innovation in Nintendo games" while the some of the best selling games on XBox and PlayStation consoles continue to be "Call of Duty" and "Halo" sequels that do very little to change the original formula

Kid mario is a concept, not baby mario, kid mario. People who didnt play mario 1 for nes or snes dont care about an old mexican guy ith a giant 'stache or his donkey brained sissy brother who wears green. If they go the reboot route go the reboot route i say

Someone needz to make an open source headset. How about phone VR?

i doubt the NX will include VR. Theyre way behind on the times when it comes to technology, and to even sell it they would have to make a first party game for it eclipsing 600p(sony vr resolution) for less than $400.

Nintendo should stick to producing toys and plushies, not wasting money on crappy first party vr nobody would play

Nintendo nx will not do vr for the next 2 years if at all. They always arrive when the party is over. Nintendo usually invest in tech that no one else has.

Mario Maker is already a franchise killer, it killed 2d mario. They can no longer return to 2d mario or charge $60 for 2d mario because of mario maker.

3rd party support? what 3rd party?
yearly assassins creed, madden, nba 2k, mlb, farcry, same old same old. what else? This generation of gaming is the slowest and least creative, the graphics are nice tho, and most of the smaller teams went down the hole when they tried to develop for ps3.
