Hi All,

I think I have a banner brick on my wii:
I installed a few games as wads via wad manager (so they show up on menu as wiiware),
and it worked perfect, game icons shown on wii menu, loaded via usb drive.
I then added 2 more games via the wad manager-
and when I returned to the wii menu it gone black, and stuck.

now, when I start the wii, I get the warning screen, I hit the A button, then it plays 2 seconds of the wii menu music (screen black) and it gets stuck in silent black screen.
No Priiloader installed. I do have an old BootMii backup, but since BootMii was installed as ISO (and not on boot2) I can't get to load BootMii

It's a PAL, 4.1E system, with WiiKey1.
Does anyone have any idea how to get around this? Or maybe to get the BootMii backup back?

Many thanks!

DeadlyFoez- thanks for the reply.

Wow. The most detailed info I've seen online about unbricking, infectus, etc. Impressive. Kudos for the write-ups.
Hey I'm choosing my words carefully here, risking not to sound over-noobed with just 1 (or 2) posts...

What recovery disks are you referring to? WiiKey?

Regarding Dbgtgoten's SDDm: My wii is pretty new- so nand is far from being almost full.
I assume that every game can save only once?
In that case I'd probably have to burn many games and save... any idea what's the total size on nand for game saves, on a new wii?
i dont have the guitar controller... so i guess i cant dl guitar-hero songs...

Thanks again.

Got you. Will try this.

Is there a "guide" for best-practices you should do before messing up with your wii (eg, intsall priiloader, etc)? is there something that gets you 100% bulletproof?

thanks again!

Best practice I can think of is to install bootmii and create backups before trying anything that can brick your wii.

(the installing of bootmii is best as boot2, but if this is not possible, install it as IOS and also install a recent version of priiloader)

100% bulletproof can only be achieved by not using your wii to begin with, but the above should be sufficient for average users.

If you're more advanced, you can check out sneek/uneek. It sorta emulates your wii on a wii (instead of reading anything from the NAND, your wii reads it from SD/USB instead). As such, if you brick it, you just erase the files from your SD card/USB drive and start anew.
