Just to clear things up.

Q) Nintendo cannot ban you whilst offline can they? (Even if you have never been online whilst in GW mode)
A) This is not possible at all due to Nintendo not knowing what you are using as you are not online.

Q) Is it possible to get a ban whilst using a .CIA?
A) Whilst no cases have been reported of this please stay cautious. (It is advised not to link your NNID to your console whilst having .CIA files installed as Nintendo will be able to see you have not bought them)

Q) Is it possible to get ban whilst using a private header?
A) Yes, but the likelyhood is very slim, if it is your own cart and noone else has copied the header you should be fine.

Q) Is it possible to get can whilst using a public header
A) No doubt about this. Just a matter of time.

Q) Is it possible to become unban for any reason?
A) Every person who bas been 'ban' has now been unban and Nintendo claim it was a server bug. This cannot be confirmed though.

Q) How long is this supposed 'Ban'
A) Whilst some users claim 5 days, other claim they have been unban after 15 days. So this can vary.

Please feel free to add some questions and I shall add accordingly.

Please remember anything is possible. I will not be responsible for your console getting a ban due to you reading this.

You're too paraboid man, everyone affected so far have been unbanned. They can't ban you while your offline, and if you use a private header you won't get banned. If you use a public header you have a chance of getting banned, but that depends if Nintendo wants to ban as thry haven't in thr past afaik

1) No they cannot
2) possible but unconfirmed (as far as i know)
3) Yeah, if someone else is using that header at the same time/with another game/.., if you are the only one, then no. (also not confirmed as far as i know)
4) Yeah deffenitly
5) Everyone that was banned is suddenly unbanned, and nintendo claims that it was a server bug

Its not about me being paranoid, it is for others to check it out and clear things up.

1. I dont think so but you never know.
2. Some were reporting it but I dont think they were being serious. Im playing my games in .cia format from the beginning and I havent been banned so far so I guess its safe.
3. Wouldnt know since I dont use ROMs.
4. Yes.
5. It is since it has been done, but that could be Nintendos mistake or whatnot.

If youre gonna use .cia files be sure not to attach a NNID to the console since Nintendo could check your .cia files and see that you dont have them bought.

Purchases are attached to eshop ID and console ID.

But then there are the bundled titles, that aren't attached to anything and can be freely dumped from and installed in any vulnerable console.

I'm not sure, but couldn't you also system transfer these?
I'm wondering, if you would copy the header to another rom, should you be able to play it on sysnand to?

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150

Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
