Most likely, not sure. I think if the game you patch over does not require an update, yeah.

Saves works
Update works
Easier to load backups

but now he add the LayeredFS for reddirec the data of the game (flog has no external data).

Only minecraft works, no other games were successfully loaded. He does own minecraft, but claims that the minecraft shown in the video was loaded using the downloaded version.

A game that was previously owned (even if it was on a different switch machine) does not count. Once there is the evidence that a game that has never been downloaded or purchased before runs using this method, then it will be rather nice (and i would guess it would be just a matter of time till more automated methods start appearing)
