Hardware Backup retail cartidge with Gateway

Its there any way to backup a retail cartidge save game with gateway and maybe reinsert it or even modify it at laest the first two things

Yes launch the gateway exploit. Then go to the right and select backup game cart. To the right of that there is an option to backup the save as well.

No you cannot edit the retail cart. I'm not Sure about saves
