I've been using WiiGator's Backup Loader with no issues. The only annoyance is having to hit "1" repeatedly to enter the menu every time I start up a game to set it to force NTSC. Most of the backups I have are PAL and I was curious if there are any versions of the backup loader that will force to NTSC by default? I've tried to see if there was a way to save the settings of my loader to force NTSC every time but so far I haven't been able to do so.

Bonus question: what is "hook type"?

Don't worry about hook type unless you use cheats.

The original version of the loader always boots up to the menu.
