Hi WiiGator

Can u make those changes for us if it s not a hard task please?

I would really love to be able to use the backup loader 0.1 then it would raise the compatibility to almost perfect !

Thanks again for the work

I think we should just let him work on the final version more.
That way, we get like the compatibilty in 0.1 and the speed in 0.3 in one!

not to mention the possible ability to load direct from disc channel

i dont understand how it went from such a slow loader to such a fast one so quickly XD

I didn't see it anywhere but was anyone able to answer whether it was possible to use 0.1 and 0.3 (I wanted to use We Ski today) :-)
or is there a way I can just go back to 0.1 (of course I'd love to use both for certain gaems etc...)

Yes you can go back by installing V5 again and if you want to go back to the new one just reinstall the V6 installer dol file

It is fast, because it uses the interrupts and doesn't generate bus load, while waiting.

There is a report that the read retry doesn't help.

If you want to see the disc channel, you can run this http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Menu_Loader and select IOS249. You will need a 1:1 backup. Starting doesn't work.
DON'T CLICK ON UPDATE IN THE DISC CHANNEL IF THIS APPEAR, THIS WILL BRICK YOUR WII WHEN THE DISC HAS THE WRONG REGION!

I've given some thought to the issue of the compatibility lists and the massive discrepencies from user to user. It seems to me that the structure of
the reporting is open to problems at it's base level. I believe the list need broken up into at least 4 seperate list to start to decipher the issues.
The four lists would at base level be:

1: PAL WII - PAL Games
2: PAL WII - NTSC Games
3: NTSC WII - NTSC Games
4: NTSC WII - PAL Games

Sub columns would still of course contain the other relative information ie Patched or 1:1 etc..... but i dont see at this time where in any of the lists
that this information is split up. Or have i just not been looking at the right lists? Thoughts?

May have really see our backup on the Wii menu? and backup GameCube too? but that must be put on the menu loader menu?

Waiting the release of Loader forward

Wouldnt there be like another 2 sections to add to that?
1: PAL WII - PAL Games -Patched/Unpatched - Speed Burn
2: PAL WII - NTSC Games - Patched/Unpatched - Speed Burn
3: NTSC WII - NTSC Games - Patched/Unpatched - Speed Burn
4: NTSC WII - PAL Games - Patched-Unpatched - Speed Burn

I could think of a few others which could effect compatibility aswell, but I think these are the main ones.

I'm not too convinced that speed of burn in the info would be very much of a helping issue. I think that burn speed is more of an individuals issue in that since the very beginning of CD and DVD drives and disks, it seems that every type of drive works best with different disks and speeds. There are
just too many variables in the equation of drives and speed and disks to be able to get usefull information from it. Speed i think would be just a personal combination that works for the individual and like myself, i just stick to Sony at 6x on my drive because it's reliable.

Of course other variables ie.. Wii Firmware Version and a few others hold more relevence since they are not as many different combinations.

The More I think about it, i think i'll set up a spreadsheet to start sorting things out. Suggestions for Data Columns are welcome....

The Even More I think about it, maybe i'm just running my mouth and should be reading the compatibility threads....

Somebody please let me know if i'm making any sense or i'm just stoned!

i have some news from the users the only diference of the two loaders is just one thing, you just need to install dvdx ios 249 of the new cios to the 0.1 and the new 0.3 you don't need to do it , i have tested zack e wiki pal iso (1:1) and the loaders work in the same way(loaders used : waninkoko loader 0.1 lancher and wiigator loader 0.3 channel)

Wiigator, did you used the latest source code from gecko os ? someone some pages before show you links to latest source and modification necessary to compile

This is not the capability thread
I tried scarface with an dump of my original PAL game disk, unpatched.
Doesn't Work.

Cool!
I like the new logo of WiiGator 3!
the other one was cool too, but it was kinda hard to read...

That was me.

And I suppose he didn't, because we could have Rebooter mode (which would hopefully have a option to reboot into IOS249, using code from the Menu Loader Clone by Raven)
