Figured I might get a reply quicker here, Has anyone tried GH3-Rockband-or GH:Aerosmith?
I read that they work, but are the notes laggy, or is there really long load times?

Thanks!

Oh and ether2802 Hit the nail on the head.

Rockband only supports its own hardware, so unless you have a Logitech mic from something else, you aren't going to get very far without the actual equipment.

I've successfully ran Aerosmith. Get the notes to sync properly by doing the following:

- Disable VIDTV Patch from the options -- it slows down the game drastically.
- As soon as you hear the main track, pause the game and wait for the buffer to catch up. Once you resume, it should match perfectly.
- Optional: If synching is still an issue, set your lag compensation to Audio: +150 and Video: +150. As long as you raise the numbers by the same variable, it won't affect any delay your A/V already has.

The load times aren't as bad as SW:TFU, but even an original GH disc takes seemingly forever to load a song.

Heeyy people!!

Remember that not all of us HAVE THE SAME WII SYSTEM, the drive chip could not be the same, the ISO could be bad or your burning program could make a bad burning, the blank DVD could have a manufacturer failure, so........yes the list of compatibles is quite handy, but doesn't have to work for everyone, you need to try other alternatives, such as:

Change your media: I'm using 16X Verbatim+R, I could change to Maxell or Sony or any other good brand
Change your burning Program: I'm using Nero 6, i'll try ImgBrn, Alcohol, etc etc etc.
Try on other PC or other Burner: I have a Gateway notebook with an externak usb DVD+ DL-RW Lite-On
SHM-16S5H,"....dad/mom/brother/sister/mate/neighbor/lover/wife/husband can I take borrow your Desktop, for 1 hour?, please"
try to change the original ISO: If it's NTSC, make it PAL (WiU1.1, WiiFrii, etc), if it's PAL make it NTSC, doesn't matter if you have NTSC/PAL Wii, DO IT...!!!
TRY TO READ TO MENU ON THE LAUNCHER ENTIRELY: So you know what functions/options, you have

If after waste 20 DVD PAL and/or NTSC, change the settings on the launcher, verify with Waninkoko's and WiiGator's Loader/Launcher, you still can't play the game, even if you have seen the campatibily list, and it says it plays better than the original one and when you finish the game gives you and alternative porno finale, maybe you should get to the conclusion that the game just doesn't work with your Wii and try other titles, you can always buy the original copy to have it working on your Wii, I get the Mario Strikers to work on the first time, and I know that in the list says it has troubles, but after playing the game I liked so much, and now I'm having troubles (Damm), my solution: I'm going to buy the original copy, because I really enjoyed

Don't get frustrated if doesn't work at first time, calm dowm, waste all your resources, and as always keep us posted, and tell us about the results of your quest...!! Saludos

meh, people forget that wiigators version is still based on the beta plus a couple of extras. I wouldn't waste doing all this until he brings out an updated version, which I'm sure he's working on right now.

Okay, I have an NTSC-U Wii- Can I burn a PAL game, and instead of using Wiifrii to change the region, Could I force PAL on the loader? Is that what that does? Or would I still need to wiifrii it?

Thanks

With WiiGator's loader you do NOT need to RegionFree any games. Instead, just choose which region you wish to force via Gecko OS.

Can someone add this tidbit of info on the first post so we can stop repeating ourselves?

*damns the lack of a FAQ...

Hey all.

I just wanted to register really quick and give this forum and its contributors a big thanks for offering and compiling such a wealth of information. I was able to get Wii backups running on my system with few hitches. For the total newbies trying to softhack your Wii -- if you've come across GBAtemp through Google or whatever, I'd wager there is enough information in this thread alone to get the job done without asking a single question. At least that was the case for me. Just have some patience and browse through the pages. It's all there.

One little side-note: I'm pretty sure I read in a few places that DVD+RW won't work. It actually does, at least, in this instance. I was having zero luck using Playo (read: Cheap) brand DVD+R with DVD-ROM bookends. No go. I was getting a verification error.

So, just for shites & griggles, I decided to try burning on some Memorex DVD+RW with the DVD-ROM bookends using ImgBurn on a BenQ burner. I figured if it didn't work, I had nothing to lose, since I'd have to go buy some higher-quality media, anyway. But, lo and behold, the loader booted the media with no hitches. Just a little heads-up for those out there wondering what type of DVDs are and aren't working.

Thanks again everyone!

^ yer me too, if someone can make a channel that looks like this for the back up loader

http://i38.tinypic.com/1zeb0as.jpg

it'd be friggin awesome. maybe just change the GeckoOS to "backup loader" if you dont wan it related to the original Gecko anymore, but that channel is nice, it looks real elegant imo.

Hi guys - there was a post earlier in this thread from someone saying that they had no troubles using DVD+R without changing the booktype and a followup post asking for some details regarding this.
I'm relatively new to wii homebrew but I'm in the same position - My DVD burner will not allow for the changing of booktypes so I've had to use DVD+R booktype and it works without a hitch. Putting the disc back in for "read" mode in IMGburn confirms the DVD+R booktype. Here's an info dump from IMGburn just now (I'm just about to burn an ISO that I backed up).

Hope this is useful, this thread has been an excellent resource for people like me trying to get their feet wet.

Thanks for the info geeknerd - good to know , but i think you may be the exception to the rule.

Some drives automatically change +R to DVD-ROM, in order to improve compatability.

that was for the old backup launcher, this one happily works fine; some compatability issues but just google compatability backup loader and you should see all you need to know!
