Harm your wii? WTF it is software. Software could brick your Wii but that is easily repaired.

the loader cant really "harm" the wii. it could if you installed it with a wad and fucked up somewhere, but if its just in the HBC the worst it could do is crash your wii. and besides a brick can be fixed in a second.

Not if someone coded something that deletes an IOS to be an asshole.

Keep in mind the original DS bricker. We'd all like to think everyone in the scene is honest, but I don't trust anything unless it comes directly from the author.

How would it take you a few minutes to reinstall an IOS considering bootmii isn't even out yet??

true, bootmii isnt out yet, but you dont need it to reinstall an IOS.

just use starfall and use the "load debug menu with Y on startup" option on your wii and your safe if you get bricked.

and ive only been on the psp scene, not the ds one so i have no idea what youre talking about when you said the original ds bricker

I hope it never happens honestly, But I don't run any code that hasn't been confirmed as safe any more than I click a tinyurl link from someone I don't trust or run exe files on my pc without first running them through virus scanners.

Just suggesting people be safe, that's all. Especially with all of the buzz about this loader, people get really excited and just throw things on their SD card and run it regardless of where it came from. all someone would have to do is dump some strings in that delete crucial files while booting the game. Like I said before, I'd like to think everyone in the scene is honest, but obviously as posted above about darkfader's bricker, some people can and will do asshole stuff.

Not to mention that, What if someone didn't install starfall to begin with?

EDIT: And I'm not accusing WiiGator of anything, just to make that clear, Just for people to be wary about downloading something randomly thrown on rapidshare or anywhere not directly posted by WiiGator.

I just want to add that I know the hype is building up to megaton proportions, I feel it too....backuploader-sense tingling. But lets not go too crazy if nothing happens tomorrow, I mena Wiigator is working his butt off and we should all remember to appreciate that no matter what.

Yeah, I pretty much came in here to say this. Believe me, I'm looking forward to this too (I must be the only one on staff without a modded Wii), but no rage or wars out of this whatever happens.
