Hi i found a way to avoid dock scratching Switch's screen and/or Switch's back.
The only thing you have to do is to put Double Sided Foam Tape to the 4(or the 2 if you want to protect only your screen) points that the switch is touching and you are done!
My only concern is that it may increase the overheating problems. What do you think?

Nice diy solution. I thought you will only get scratches on the front but mine eventually also got scratched on the back. Nice job nintendo. Don't know why they even bother to design the dock this way?

I think it will not scratch the switch, but if you want to remove the tape someday, you will get a completely mess in the dock...
double sided tape is a pain to remove... and even more pain inside the dock. you can't get your fingers there easily to remove it.

I have read a lot that 3rd party docks are dangerous for the console, don't know if that's true

Yep, there are several different models. The one I suggested has a spot for the LED, and it also retains the spring plate mechanism, which is nice to have, but not essential.

That's not a 3rd party dock, that's a shell. An empty shell. You basically disassemble your original Nintendo dock, and then transfer your board into the replacement shell. It's as safe as using the original. In fact, safer, since no heat problems, and no sratches.

I have a version of this on my desk and I have been using it for years.

Sorry would also add a lot of the issues are with 3rd part chargers and not the docks, or at least that is what I have seen. I use only Nintendo sold power cables for when I am using the docks and other chargers for when I am on the go.

You da man! :grog:

And Cheers to you :grog:

Was lucky back in the day I was one of the people that got the dock that blows out the switch. Unfortunately/fortunately I got busy with work and never set it up. Then all the bad reviews came in and I returned it and got the case kit instead and never looked back.

The sad part is that the little plastic stand for the Wii U gamepad had rubber wheels at the bottom for stability. Instead of the Switch dock having hard plastic guides they could have just designed it to use those rubber wheels with a spring behind them to keep the Switch stable. Pretty good idea for modding if you ask me.
