I got a 520 in 1 game from ebay and sometimes my dsi could read it and others no, even during gameplay it would eject and crash the game, do r4 cards also do this?

and once I get my r4 where can I get the downloads for it and find the right ones

thanks, Antonio

Most R4 card do not have the problem that you describe, tested some of them and did not have that problem which you are experiencing. Hence, I would say no, but it could be that this problem is caused by you DS system. Have you tried to clean the input?

For a new R4 card:
The safest bet is the R4i Gold 3ds Plus, if you want to buy a R4 card. The wood kernel, which is freely available and works perfectly, is compatible with this card. Thereby comes that it does not matter that this card is made for the 3DS, since it works on older devices too, and it has a build-in NtrBoot with which you could hack a 3DS in the future if you would want that.
Else, the kernel that is compatible with the card that you will buy is mostly available on the site that is mentioned on the R4 card itself such that you can download it from there. However, some of these kernels and/or website are not available anymore. Hence, the above option would probably save you from most of these problems.
